Dear Partners,
As an important member of the WorldVenture family, we want to inform you about some new and exciting changes our ministry is making that may impact your local area. With the goal of providing better service to our supporting churches and our missionaries, we are currently in the process of reorganizing our regional offices. I, Doug Hazen, will continue to be the “Regional Mission Director” (RMD) in your Northwest region.
As in the past—only more so now—my team will bring the resources of WorldVenture to your "front door," and be available to assist you in successfully developing and implementing your congregation's missional vision, which we trust will lead to a greater passion for missions and for the Great Commission. Most importantly, as part of our mission's goal to provide the best missionary care possible, we believe this new structure will enable us to provide higher and better levels of support to your WorldVenture missionaries. In this regard, my team members and I will be there to personally coach and encourage your missionaries, help them raise support and facilitate a closer bond of connection with your congregation once they go to the field.
As WorldVenture's Northwest Regional Mission Director, my passion is to come alongside you and your church to help equip and resource what God is calling you to do in terms of missions. I will also be assembling and training a team of regional ministry volunteers, consisting of "Regional Mission Coaches" (RMCs) and "Regional Mission Partners" (RMPs). The RMCs will focus on providing missional support to our church partners, missionary candidate coaching, championing our business-based mission efforts and introducing young people to our Journey Corps service and training program. The RMP positions are for individuals with occasional time to serve as mission advocate partners who can provide missionary, donor and church referrals to RMDs and RMCs, and to assist with local events. If you or someone you know would be interested in serving in one of these positions, please let me know!
Warmly in Christ,
Doug Hazen

About Me: I have enjoyed serving Northwest churches and WorldVenture missionaries in a similar capacity since 1997, where my team pioneered many of the innovative methods for developing missionally-minded people now being implemented across our regional offices. My wife Ruth and I have been involved with ministry for most of our adult lives. With a Th.B. from Multnomah University in Portland, Oregon, and a Th.M. (1981) from Dallas Theological Seminary in Texas, I initially served for eight years as an associate pastor in Eugene, Oregon. A dramatic call to missions in one of my own messages led our family into overseas service with WorldVenture, working with pastors and churches in Zaire (now the Democratic Republic of Congo). After ministering there for three years, our family returned to the USA and I accepted my position as WorldVenture's Northwest Church Connections Director.
